November 21, 2014:   China is now offering for export a self-propelled anti-aircraft system (the CA/SA5). This system uses a 30mm six-barrel autocannon and four short range missiles to provide protection from cruise missiles, low flying aircraft, helicopters, and UAV's. The system is carried on the chassis of the ZBL 09 IFV (Infantry Fighting Vehicle). The turret on the CA/SA5 contains the 30mm autocannon, two FN-6 launch tubes on each side of the turret and the sensors (optical and day/night vidcams). The 30mm cannon on the CA/SA5 has a max range of 4,000 meters and max altitude of 3,000 meters. The missiles on the CA/SA5 are the same ones used in the QW-1/FN-6 shoulder fired anti-aircraft weapon. This is a 17 kg (37 pound) system that includes the launcher/storage tube, missile, and sighting and firing gear. The missile has a max range of five kilometers and max altitude of four kilometers. Minimum altitude is 30 meters. The system is 1.45 meters (4.5 feet) long and the missile is 71mm in diameter. The manufacturer states that the missile has a 70 percent probability of hitting aircraft within range.

The basic ZBL 09 is a 21 ton vehicle that has a crew of three and carries seven passengers. It has a turret with a 30mm single barrel autocannon but there are many variants carrying different weapons or no weapons at all.
