Ireland has cancelled its controversial purchase of S92 search-and-rescue helicopters due to budget problems; the purchase had been challenged in court by the losing bidder (Eurocopter's Cougar). Instead, the military will lease one S61 for search-and rescue. The Irish military only provides search and rescue for the northwest part of the country, leaving the coverage of other coasts to a private company.--Stephen V Cole
