December 5, 2025: The Netherlands Navy recently took delivery of Den Helder, a 20,000-ton Replenishment Oiler for the navy. The ship cost nearly half a billion dollars to construct and four years to build in the Dutch Damen shipyard. The ship carries 7.6 million L/Liters of diesel, one million L of helicopter fuel, 226,000 L of water as well as 434 tons of other supplies, including ammunition for the 76mm gun, four 12.7 machine-guns and reloads for the RIM-116 21 missile anti-aircraft system. Two NH90 helicopters and two LCVP landing craft are also carried. The ship is operated by a crew of 75, with accommodations for another 75 personnel. Top speed is 37 kilometers an hour. Electronics include air and surface search systems as well as GPS and a fire control system.

Other ships of the Netherlands Navy include three submarines, six frigates, four ocean going patrol vessels, two LPD amphibious ships, one Joint Support Ship, 17 landing craft, three mine hunters and about fifty smaller craft.
