The Maharishi Institute of Supreme Military Science has placed yet another full-page full-color advertisement in Jane's Defence Weekly, this time providing statistical evidence as to the success of their Vedic Technology. Citing studies by scholarly journals, the Maharishi Institute notes that as the number of Transcendental Meditation students at Maharishi University reached 1,500 and then passed 2,000, the number of wars and war casualties declined by 60%, and relations between the US and Russia improved to substantially complete cooperation. The problem with these studies is that they were all published in 1988-90, and the world at least seems to be a much more violent place since then. A fourth ad, in the next issue of JDW, says that Vedic defense technology provides a unifying power to ensure that a nation has no enemies within or without. --Stephen V Cole
