April 25, 2006: Japan has extended, for six months, the use of its navy supply ships to support Coalition warships in the Indian ocean. The Japanese have been quietly supplying this support since late 2001. While not as noticeable as providing warships (which, according to Japan's constitution, they would have a hard time doing), the Japanese logistical support has been critical in keeping the dozens of Coalition warships on station and in working order. In this respect, the Japanese have been a quiet, but very helpful, ally.
