The U.S. Navy's Phalanx "last ditch" automatic cannon for destroying cruise missiles, is being modified to work against small boats (presumably full of explosives) that are getting too close to a warship. The Greek navy, mindful of a the French supertanker that was severely damaged off Yemen by a suicide boat last Fall, recently bought a Phalanx system for one of it's navy tankers (used to refuel warships at sea.)
