April 12, 2012: Ukraine has developed a new 30mm automatic cannon. The ZTM-1 is designed for IFVs (Infantry Fighting Vehicles), which have small turrets. The ZTM-1 weighs 84 kg (185 pounds), has a max range of 1,200 meters (for line of sight targets), and 4,000 meters (if firing at aircraft). Rate of fire is 330 rounds a minute and each 30mm projectile weighs 900 gm (2 pounds). Ukraine developed the ZTM-1 in order to have a more effective autocannon for the IFVs it exports.
