In Kashmir, rebel activity five rebels and seven Moslem civilians dead. The civilians, including women and children, were killed because a village refused to provide support for rebel operations. This terror is used to obtain civilian support when persuasion fails. On the Kashmir border with Pakistan, Indian troops captured a major rebel leader and six other members of the Tehreek-ul-Mujahedin.
