The US is selling India eight "Weapons Locating Radars" that will enable Indian troops to quickly locate where hostile mortars or artillery are being fired from. This will allow Indian artillery or airpower to quickly and accurately attack the enemy artillery or mortars. These radars are also called "counterbattery radar." The US is also tested various types of electronic sensors in Kashmir, as India is interested in buying such equipments if it can pass muster in field tests.
