  Religious conservatives organized anti-US demonstrations because US president Bush made a speech praising pro-reform forces in Iran. Although the religious conservatives have outlawed satellite television dish's, these devices are still used, and news shows are exchanged on VCR tapes. Moreover, a Iranian language satellite channel (mainly directed at Iranians living outside Iran) is also picked up in Iran. The channel's news shows are particularly welcome, and this is how news of what is really going on in Iran reaches many Iranians.
