Thousands of tribal herders in the east have fled into Cameroon to escape. Tribal wars in eastern Nigeria has  left several hundred dead so far this year. There are at least 10,000 Nigerians are refugees in Cameroon and some armed groups are coming after them. This is causing more tension between the two nations, which still have an unresolved border dispute along the coast.
