Rebel leader, and former army leader, General Francois Bozize, seized control of the entire capital, declared himself "head of state" and suspended the constitution. He announced on the radio that he had done this,  "because of the mismanagement of the country and its inability to carry out its domestic responsibilities." He then called for, "peace and national reconciliation,"
